Wi in day tomorrow..Waiting brings excitement and trepidation!

So tomorrow is weigh in day.. I am excited as the scales have been showing roughly a 1lb loss all week although today I feel heavy and bloated, It could be because I am tired but I hate that it makes me feel like I have to be nervous about my official weigh in! I also have had my daughter replaced by that of an alien or at least that’s what it feels like.. I always knew that once my daughter reached the teenage years that it was going to be hard but I feel helpless sometimes especially at that time of the month if you catch my drift.. She barely talks to me any more and I hate it I don’t know why she has suddenly turned into this alien that I feel like I barely know these days. It makes me stressed out and that leads me to my point,  I am an emotional eater I know this and understand it I have read a lot about it and found out ways to curb this and I pretty much feel I have it under control nowadays, but Letitia being so stressed out this morning and banging around at 6am, cause I wouldn’t let her have the day of school as she “felt ill” made me stressed out today and that made me hungry.. I’m glad I sat down and thought about it because if I hadn’t I may have ended up having some sort of binge.. If I’m completely honest and it wasn’t weigh in day tomorrow I don’t think I would have had so much self control.. But I’m proud that I did and I hope it pays off and shows on the scales in the morning! So my menu today was:

Breakfast: 35g Hot oats 3pp, 120ml skimmed milk 1pp and 7g of honey 1pp.

Lunch: Microwave pizza home made:-Weight watchers tortilla wrap 3pp, 1Tbsp tomato puree 0pp, 1 mushroom sliced 0pp, 1 shallot sliced 0pp, 3 slices of garlic sausage chopped/ripped into pieces 1pp(If I’m honest I ate 1 and 1/2 slices and put 1&1/2 on the pizza) and 30g co-op reduced fat grated cheddar 2pp.

And after all for 6pp!

 

Dinner: 60g cous cous 2pp, 150g Nume piri piri chicken sandwich filler 5pp and a small sprinkling of parmasean cheese 0pp. 

Snacks: 1 pack of whisps 3pp and 1 caramella sundae 4pp. 

Total used 25/26! 

Tomorrow I have my nephews 4th birthday party and we have friends coming round for dinner and drinks also.. So have a feeling my weeklies will be blown all in that one day :O Seeing as my cooker is still not connected and one of the friends we have coming over is vegetarian, I have opted and found a recipe to make a mushroom and leek risotto in my slow cooker I will post the recipe  either tomorrow or Sunday and a pic of it too. I am off for my 3rd mile swim now and I can’t say in all honesty I am looking forward to it as I am  very tired but I know once I am in there I will feel better and it will help reduce the stress I have been feeling today, Looking forward to letting you all know the result of my wi tomorrow. The Weightwatchers app for android has arrived..Finally!!

I am so happy even though I don’t have an android phone.. I have a blackberry lol, anyway the reason I am so excited is the weightwatchers app for android phones has finally landed and downloaded it to my sisters samsung galaxy note today to see what it was like and have a play around with it! The verdict I love it and when my phone upgrade is due in Jan I will be getting a galaxy note, not an I phone which I was going to get purely for the weightwatchers app, the only downside I have is that it doesn’t have the recipe builder on it… But then I guess if your cooking or baking you are more than likely going to be at home or somewhere near a connection to the internet so it’s not that much of a downside for me. I have heard some of my friends on a facebook group for ww support that I am in, cannot download the app.. I struggled to find it in the google play market also.. So I just searched google and found the link to download it! Also today for dinner I had the weight watchers alfredo bolognaise.. And I have to say I wasn’t that keen it really didn’t have much flavour at all, I was quite disappointed as bolognaise is one of my favourite meals! I’m still not feeling 100% but I did manage to get up to my sister’s and bake a cake for my nephew’s 4th Birthday tomorrow and walk Cia.. We are having a party for him on Sat so be prepared to be bombarded with pictures of all my niece’s and nephew’s 😀 So my menu today was:

Breakfast: 35g hot oats 3pp, 120ml Skimmed milk 1pp, 10g Dark chocolate drops 1pp and 15g Whole earth natural peanut butter 2pp.

Lunch: weightwatchers tortilla wrap 3pp, 3 slices garlic sausage 1pp, 1 Mushroom sliced, 75g Nume chicken tikka sandwich filler 2pp and 1 tomato 1pp.

Dinner: Weightwatchers alfredo bolognaise 9pp.

Snacks: 1 pack whisps 3pp, 2 maria biscuits 1pp. 

Total used 26/26 and scales looking mighty fine this morning!

Sorry for the late one tonight!

Hey everyone sorry for the late post tonight, I just got back from my second mile swim for my swim the channel challenge and realised I hadn’t written my blog today!! I did go to Morrison’s today and found out the other new Weight watchers select ready meals they have brought out, so in addition to my post yesterday about the butternut squash and mozzarella risotto 12pp, there is a hot smoked salmon and creme fraiche linguine 9pp.. I would love to review this for you but as much as I adore all types of fish, I am unfortunately not a huge fan of salmon, I don’t know why because I love just about every other fish you can think of! So if one of you lovely people reading my blog would like to try it, please let me know by all means what it’s like and I may be swayed to try it! The only other one they had was this one..

Smokey Chipotle chilli and spicy rice 12pp.

Now to be honest as much as I loved the smokey flavour and the rice was nice, It has two, yes TWO chilli symbols on it so I was expecting a bit of a kick.. Nowt, Nada, Zilch! I was to say the least a little disappointed, I do love food that has a bit of a kick to it 😉 However if you are nothing like me then you will love this the way it is, me on the other hand I will be adding a little bit of chilli powder to it next time! So my menu today was: 

Breakfast: None – I know I need to break this habit as I know when I have breakfast I am fuller and feel more in control, But we got up late again and had no milk so by the time I had gone to the shops it was lunch time! 🙂 

Lunch: Weight watchers tortilla wrap 3pp, 3 slices garlic sausage 1pp, Nume chicken tikka sandwich filler 2pp, 1 Sliced mushroom 0pp. 1 Tomato quartered and 60g cucumber chopped on the side with 15g light salad cream 1pp. 

Dinner: Smokey chipotle chilli and spicy(not so much) rice 11pp, 20g co-op reduced fat cheese 1pp. 

Snacks: 2 packs of Texan flavour whisps 5pp, 2 maria biscuits 1pp. 

Total 25/26pp. 

I am a little bit peckish after my swim but I don’t like using my ap so I am trying to push the thoughts of food to the back of my head as it’s far too late and I only have 1pp left!! Cheese cake was a disaster, Dinner was lovely though!!

So the cheesecake base did not firm up, in all the years I have been baking I have never had a disaster quite like this one, when I tried to slice it and put it on the plate it was just one big gloopy mess! Still tastes okay though and I won’t be wasting it.. I cannot stand throwing food away!! Worked it out at 4pp per slice so not too bad, I will however be trying this again next week and posting decent pics and the recipe. Last night we ended up going to Strada (Italian) instead of the Indian we had planned, I’m actually quite pleased we did because in hindsight I probably would have overeaten and then felt ill today.. So I had no starter, just a main which was Pumpkin and butternut squash risotto with pancetta, wilted spinach and pine nuts. It was very yummy and I did not feel like I had eaten too much, I had a diet coke with my meal, I don’t drink fizzy too often so I was happy to have a diet coke. I also instead of having dessert decided to have an espresso, so when I got home and re pointed it all it turned out I had 17 weeklies left! I was sure I would use them today but as you will see from my menu I haven’t even used all my dailies :O So if the weeklies don’t get used tomorrow then they wont be being used at all!! Today we went for a walk down the beach as it was a gorgeous Indian summers day.. Well for part of the day anyway now it looks like it’s going to storm, typical British weather.. Anyway down on the front today they had the motorbike show they have every year and there were some beasts, however this one is the one that caught my eye.. 

What a beauty!!

After our wander looking at the bikes, trikes and scooters we went for a drink before the weather turned and I had Jeremiah Weed root brew, it’s yummy ginger style root beer from Kentucky I have had both this one and their sour mash brew before, I prefer the Sour mash brew one but they had run out where we went. The one thing that annoys me as a weight watcher is there is never any nutritional information on bottles of alcohol.. So I have Googled it and the only thing I can find is that they both are 120 calories for 500ml?! That can’t be right surely!! I have no taken it upon myself to email the company and ask them for the nutritional info for both bottles so I can safely propoint it without having to guestimate!! 

So my menu today was: 

Breakfast: None, we didn’t actually get out of bed till 11:30am.. So it seemed like the most sensible idea was to wait for lunch.

Lunch: 1 weightwatchers tortilla wrap 3pp, 40g wafer thin turkey 1pp, 75g Nume piri piri chicken sandwich filler 2pp (The tikka one is the best!), 1 mini pepper sliced 0pp, 1 mushroom sliced 0pp.

Dinner: 50g cous cous 2pp, 1 pack Bernard Matthews tikka turkey chunks 3pp, handful fresh chopped parsley 0pp, 1 tbsp lime juice 0pp, 1 mini pepper sliced 0pp, 2 mushrooms sliced 0pp. 

Snacks: 1 slice of gloopy strawberry cheesecake 4pp, 1 bottle Jeremiah weed which I am pro pointing as 6 for now as I’d rather over point than under point. 

Total used 21/26, 0 weeklies used. 

5pp dinner!!

So that’s me for today, tomorrow I start my Aspire swim the channel challenge.. My aim is to swim at least 3 miles a week and hopefully get it completed in less than the 1 weeks they give you to do it, So Please Please give anything you can to help me raise some money for these amazing people with spinal injuries 😀

Such a long day.. Sooooo Tired!

It has been such a long day, I have walked 8.5miles and done 20,495 steps already! I just waned to jump on and say not had such a great day food wise, but have stayed within pp although am a little hungry now after all that exercise so may have a wrap in a mo, but luckily have some weeklies left.. Don’t usually dip into them this late in the week but I feel if I don’t eat now it may be worse for me later!?! :O

 My menu today was: 

Breakfast: None.. I know it’s wrong but I really wanted comfort food brekkie, like bacon, eggs etc.. so couldn’t bring my self to have cereal I just wouldn’t have enjoyed it! 

Lunch: 60g cous cous 2pp, Nume chicken fajita sandwich filler  160g (last of the pot needed to be used) 4pp.

Dinner: Weight watchers tortilla wrap 3pp, Aldi sliced garlic sausage 3 slices 1pp, 1 dairylea light cheese triangle 1pp. 

Snacks: Here is where I have blown most of my points for the day.. I had a double milky way 6pp, a ripple 5pp and a 150ml pot of yoomoo angelmoo 4pp (This is really yummy frozen yoghurt swirled with blueberry sauce and berries, sprinkled with vanilla pumpkin seeds it was divine and for 4pp well worth the points, I took a gamble with this as I have never had frozen yoghurt before but now it will be my treat of choice rather than Ice cream!)

So today I have used 29/26 (3 Weeklies used) 

I am surprised at how hungry I am but because of the walk I can kinda see why.. here is a pic of the gorgeous Cia

Today was all about the Green tea! :D

Hiyyyyaaaaaa! So I want to start by telling you what happened to me last night.. Here is what I was feeling when I wrote it on Facebook last night:  I Was feeling really hungry tonight.. I thought about it and thought about it and came up with the reasoning that I don’t think I really was hungry.. I think subconsciously because I knew I had 25 weeklies left my mind was saying its ok you can eat because there are points there to do it, I went and got my self a bottle if water and a pack of nume multi grain snacks 3pp.. Then after I ate those I went for a walk to the car and back with Chris and I’m not hungry any more! I really feel I’ve made some progress in the mind games losing weight can have on you tonight, as earlier I would’ve seen myself having a full on binge.. I’m so glad I stopped and thought about why I was hungry, didn’t deny myself something, but didn’t give in to the mind games either! I feel very proud of myself right now and wanted to share.. Sorry for the long post! 

I posted this not because I wanted other people to congratulate me, But because I want other people to know that you don’t have to succumb to that binge you can feel coming on if you actually stop and think about why your hungry, if you are indeed hungry at all. I really feel this was a massive breakthrough for me in the psychological issues that surround my weight loss battle, and if I can help just one person to overcome something and have the same breakthrough I have done a very good thing. 🙂 

Now on to the green tea’s 😀 I love green tea I have at least 2 cups a day, the numerous health benefits are amazing.. Seriously google it! I usually drink plain green tea with a tsp lemon juice and a couple of sweeteners or a tsp of honey in place of the sweeteners, I love the taste and it’s good for me, what could be better I hear you ask?? Well today I found these… 

Now I know you probably can’t see the flavours that well, (I got this pic of the net as the one’s I tried taking were crap) There are 25 bags in the box, 5 of each flavour they are: Green tea with Cranberry, Green tea with Orange and lotus flower, Green tea with Apple and pear, Green tea with Pineapple and grapefruit and Green tea with Citrus. Today I tried the one with Cranberry, the one with Pineapple and grapefruit and the one with Apple and pear.. I would love to tell you I have a clear favourite but I can’t I love them all, But I can tell you this I will not be going back to plain old green tea again, These flavours are amazing and very refreshing. I bought them in co-op, the box was £1.99, so a fair price I think considering I just checked the twining’s website and they are £2.50 a box on there! :O 

My menu today was lovely:

Breakfast: 35g Hot oat cereal 3pp, 150ml Skimmed milk 1pp, 1 Sliced banana 0pp, 10g Dark chocolate drops 1pp.

Very indulgent breakfast for very small points!

 

Lunch: Weight watcher tortilla wrap 3pp, 40g Wafer thin turkey 1pp, 90g Nume chicken tikka sandwich filler 3pp, (Last of the pot) banana 0pp, a tomato sliced 0pp with a dairylea cheese triangle 1pp.

Dinner: Healthier choice Sweet Chilli Chicken Noodles meal 8pp (This is a bargain on points, very healthy, Filling and yummy to boot!)

Snacks: I’m not actually hungry right now, but I have a snack planned of 2 ryvita’s 1pp, a Dairy lea light triangle 0pp ( You can have 2 of these for up to 1pp) A sliced tomato 0pp.

Total used: 22/26 😀 

Today I have also been out to my sister’s to meet her neighbour Corinne, Unfortunately hasn’t been too well and needs someone to help walk her puppy a couple of days a week so I have volunteered Go me! Bodacia is her name and she is a 5 month old cross between a husky and labrador, she is adorable.. Tomorrow I am taking her for her first walk up over devils dyke, A good workout for her and me! I will pop a pick on tomorrow of her, You will fall in love trust me, I did! Much love Gems 😀 

 

 

Another good loss this week.. And baked potatoes!

So I lost another 2.2lbs this week and that combined with my 2.8lb loss last week makes 5lbs in two weeks!! Clearly not having my cooker connected is helping with my weight loss, Hmm untapped market in the weight loss industry?? I think so! I have some reviews for you on some more of the Morisson Nume range which has replaced their eat smart range, The first one is Chicken tikka sandwich filler 2pp for up to 70g, Very yummy and filling probably the best one of the two I tried. The second one is Chicken fajita sandwich filler and again 2pp for up to 70g.. This one was ok but I’m more of a Tikka girl anyway but wanted to give it a try. You could use these in a variety of ways, obviously in a sandwich 😉 I used mine in wraps as I really don’t eat bread that much these days, You could use them as a filling for a jacket potato, mix them with some rice or cous cous.. the possibilities are endless I tell ye! I also tried some Nume cream cheese and black pepper multi grain crisps 25g pack 3pp.. I am in love with them, that is alll I have to say on it TRY THEM!! 😀 Today I decided to get a bit funky with my cereal as I have the same thing every day so I thought I’d spice it up a bit and make it pretty, I added a couple of drops of red food colouring and some vanilla essence but it did the trick…

All spunked up cereal!

I tend to use 120ml in my cereal and 30ml in my coffee.. This is the only milk I have all day, the rest of the time my coffee is black and I drink green tea and water lots of it! I have also been busy today applying for the foodie penpal scheme out there for bloggers and readers of blogs, Thank you to Vincente of http://vittlemonster.com/ and Lindsay from http://www.theleangreenbean.com for pointing me in the right direction to find out about it in the UK as it sounded fabulous! Breakfast: 35g Hot oat cereal 3pp, 150ml Skimmed milk 1pp.

Lunch: 2 Weight watchers tortilla wraps 5pp, 70g Nume Chicken tikka sandwich filler 2pp, 70g Nume chicken fajita sandwich filler 2pp, 60g Sliced mushrooms 0pp, Pack of Nume cream cheese and black pepper multi grain crisps 3pp.

Dinner: Jacket potato 185g 4pp, 200g Nume baked beans 4pp, 17g Extra light philadelphia 0pp, 60g Sliced mushrooms 0pp, 30g Co-op reduced fat grated cheddar 2pp, 1 Butter bud sachet 0pp.

Snacks: none, I haven’t been that hungry in all honesty I probably could have had one of those wraps for lunch instead of two as they were quite filling, well we live and we learn.

New weekly pro points in the bank as of today so will no doubt have a couple of drinks or more later on with Chris, I tend to use my weeklies all over the weekend or at least by Monday at the latest as I find if I spread them out through the week I either sts or gain.
